Wolf Continues to Snare His Victims
This is Wolf’s fourth ATP tournament of the season and only for the first time has he managed to win a match in the main draw.
In fact if one adds the Challenger circuit as well, Wolf had won just three matches, and that explained his ranking outside the top 200.
Coming into this tournament, Wolf had to go through the qualifying rounds, both of which he won despite going in as an underdog. And then in the first round here, Lorenzo Sonego was 1/2 to win the encounter which shortened gravely when the Italian player clinched the first set.
It was Wolf’s tenacity that allowed him to remain in the match within touching distance of his opponent and overturn the result, winning 3-6, 7-6 (7), 6-2 to set up this meeting with the world number four.
