Benjamin Bonzi v Arthur Rinderknech Head to Head

Bonzi and Rinderknech are locked at 1-1 in their head-to-head. Both matches took place at the Challenger Tour in 2021. Rinderknech defeated Bonzi in the final of the Istanbul Challenger, before Bonzi avenged that loss in Rennes later that season.

Bonzi Looks To Maintain Hot Start

Benjamin Bonzi is steadily rising through the ranks on the main tour. After a remarkable campaign on the Challenger Tour in 2021 (which yielded an astonishing six titles), he has continued in the same form this season.

Bonzi has already picked up another title on the ATP’s second tier, winning the Cherbourg Challenger on home soil last month. He would then carry that momentum to Marseille, where he reached his first ATP semifinal, stunning the likes of Pierre-Hugues Hebert and Aslan Karatsev.

It won’t be long before Bonzi breaks the Top 50 as he sits at No. 62 heading to the California desert. He will take part at an ATP Masters 1000 for the first time, and given his mastery of hard courts, he will be a name everyone will want to avoid.

The 25-year-old was part of the French team that qualified at the Davis Cup Finals this past weekend. He secured a routine straight-set win in his singles rubber, beating Cayetano March of Ecuador 6-0 6-2.

Rinderknech Also Impressive In France’s Davis Cup Bid

It hasn’t been Bonzi alone who has enjoyed a relatively fine introduction on the ATP tour. His compatriot Arthur Rinderknech has surpassed him at the top level in recent months.

Rinderkench came full circle at his home tournament in Marseille last season where he made the quarterfinals beating the likes of Maxime Cressy and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. He backed up that run with another last-eight showing on the clay of Lyon, stunning top-10 player Jannik Sinner in the process.

Those results earned Rinderknech a wild card into the main draw of the French Open for the second time. And although he did not enjoy a fruitful return, Rinderknech reached the quarterfinals or better at four ATP tournaments in the second half of 2021.

And judging by his rapidly-improving form in the early months of 2022, Rinderknech is well placed to ascend even higher than his current ranking of 57.

Bonzi v Rinderknech Prediction and Tip

Bonzi and Ridnerknech are slowly restoring some semblance of normality to French tennis in terms of ranking. If recent history between these two players is anything to go by, we expect another closely-contested matchup.
