Kaja Juvan v Oceane Dodin Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between the two players on the WTA Tour.

World No. 85 Kaja Juvan – currently placed nine spots above Dodin – had to start her campaign in the BNP Paribas Open as a qualifier. Seeded number three, she had a comfortable run as she overcame Tatjana Maria in straight sets and then got a walkover against Lesia Tsurenko.
The 21-year-old is now set to make her main-draw debut in the valley and has got a fair bit of momentum under her belt. In her last two tournaments (St. Petersburg and Doha), Juvan picked up seven wins while losing two matches although, most of them came in the qualifying rounds.
Nonetheless, each match counts towards experience and in the process, Juvan defeated the likes of Stefanie Voegele, Alison Van Uytvanck, Vitalia Diatchenko, and Catherine McNally.
Earlier in the season, she also reached the quarterfinal in Adelaide 1 after stunning Aryna Sabalenka in the second round in straight sets.
As for her WTA pedigree, she has a sole doubles title to her name which she picked up last season in Cluj-Napoca.

Dodin, Sailing in a Similar Boat
Former world number 46 Oceane Dodin hasn’t had the best run on the tour this season either. She has not made it beyond the first round in all of her 2022 WTA events so far – barring the Sydney Classic where she reached the round of 16.
Her last tournament was in Lyon where she was beaten by the German qualifier Tamara Korpatsch in three sets. Apart from that, the 25-year-old also featured in an ITF event but could only make it as far as the quarterfinal.
Dodin spent the bulk of last season alternating between the ITF and WTA circuits. In the former, she made it to two finals while in the latter, her sole commendable feat came in Palermo where she reached the semis. In every other upper-tier event, Dodin was beaten in the initial matches.
Juvan v Dodin Prediction and Tip
This match can just as likely swing either way as there is not a whole lot that separates the two players. Granted that Dodin has an objectively superior pedigree but Juvan has all the makings of being a tennis star – all she needs is consistency.
