Beatriz Haddad-Maia v Nuria Parrizas-Diaz Head to Head

Parrizas-Diaz fell at the first hurdle in Indian Wells, losing out in a 3-set tussle to Shelby Rogers 6-1 5-7 7-6(3) in a 2-hour 51-minute battle with the American.
Like Haddad-Maia, Parrizas-Diaz also likened to the Mexican courts in Monterrey sealing a semi-final appearance there like her next opponent. On her way to the last-4 the Spaniard defeated Doi, Watson and Sorribes-Tormo, dropping just one set, before losing out to Osorio Serrano 6-4 6-4 to be denied a spot in the final.
Down under, Parrizas-Diaz has a successful Australian swing, reached the quarters of the Melbourne (Summer Set 2) competition, defeating Perez and Liu before losing to Kasatkina.
Then at the Australian Open, reaching the third round, thanks to a walkover from Zanevska in the second round after defeating Bara in round one. Losing out to Pegula 7-6(3) 6-2 in the round-of-32 clash.

A close match-up with only 13 places between them in the WTA rankings, which makes this match difficult to call. However, based upon the fact that Parrizas-Diaz has defeated the Brazilian on a hard court before this should fill her with confidence and be enough to secure a third successive win over Haddad-Maia.
