Jannik Sinner v Emil Ruusuvuori Head to Head
On the tour, it’s Sinner who has a 2-0 record against Ruusuvuori. Both their meetings happened last year and one of those was in the Round of 16 in Miami.

Last year’s finalist Jannik Sinner will begin his 2022 Miami Open campaign in the second round on Friday. The ninth seed is yet to reach a final this year but comes in with a 13-2 record this season. At Indian Wells he made it to the last 16 but withdrew due to an illness ahead of his fourth round match with Nick Kyrgios.
Having regained his fitness, Sinner returns to the venue where he reached his maiden Masters 1000 final on debut last year only to finish runner-up to Hubert Hurkacz. That was one of the five finals he featured in last year and the only one the he lost.
The 20-year-old, who has won five ATP titles, picked up from where he left last year as he began 2022 by winning all three of his matches at the ATP Cup and then reached the last eight of the Australian Open for the first time in his career. He made it to the quarterfinals in Dubai as well but fell to Hurkacz again.
How far can he go in Miami this year? Form suggests he will be a difficult player to beat. Expect him to go deep in the tournament.

Ruusuvuori Takes Out Cressy
Maharashtra Open finalist Emil Ruusuvuori handed America’s Maxime Cressy a fourth consecutive first-round defeat as the Finnish player moved into the second round of the Miami Open.
Ranked No. 71 in the world, Ruusuvuori needed just 69 minutes to beat the World No. 72, 6-3, 6-2. He saved all three of the break points that he faced in the match, and broke Cressy once in the first set and twice in the second.
With the win, Ruusuvuori is now 11-6 this season.He was a semifinalist in the season opener in Melbourne and reached a maiden ATP tour final in Pune, only to finish runner-up to Joao Sousa
The 22-year-old is playing in Miami for the second time. Last year he had made it to the Round of 16 but his run was ended by Sinner. Will he be able to get his revenge this year?
