Hubert Hurkacz v Lloyd Harris Head to Head

Hubert Hurkacz took advantage of a weaker field last year to win the Miami Masters. It was quite a comfortable run for the Polish player who essentially grew up on North American hard courts and his familiarity with the surface and conditions help him more than the average European tennis player.
So far it’s been less of a comfortable run in Miami yet she was never in danger of crashing out of the event. The conditions allow him to win a lot of points with his great serve. Due to the slow travel of the ball, it just makes it easier for him to win points.
He does tend to play quite a bit of tiebreak but that’s part of the deal with playing his type of tennis. He is generally very strong in those situations and does not get nervous easily.

Harris Finally Winning Matches
Lloyd Harris has not had a very good season so far as the South African struggled quite a bit yet he was able to find a spark in Miami. It’s mostly due to the conditions and a favourable draw.
His serve is a good weapon to have in Miami and his forehand can be tricky to handle.
His backhand is a weak spot but it’s good enough to survive in these conditions. Overall it’s just been a good week for Harris who defeated Denis Shapovalov for the major upset a few days ago. It’s some of the best tennis he has played and that should give him confidence moving forward.
Hurkacz vs Harris Prediction and Tip
So this is an interesting matchup as we have two very similar players. Hurkacz is generally the far better player and does most of the things Harris does far better. He has a similarly good serve, he has a weaker forehand generally but his groundstrokes are more precise allowing him to place it rather well on the court.
He also rarely makes a lot of mistakes which tends to happen to Harris. The South African backhand is also a target for many players and with good reason. Expect Hurkacz to try and exploit that weakness. Overall it should be a good match but the matchup clearly favours the Polish player.
I would be very surprised if Hurkacz fails to win this match. It might not be comfortable, it might not be in two sets but it would be a major surprise if he does not win it.
