Frances Tiafoe v Marcos Giron Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before, at the Paris Masters last year, Giron winning in three sets.

Tiafoe’s best result on clay came in Estotril three years ago, when he reached the final only to lose to the Portuguese player Joao Sousa.
Earlier that year he won the event in Delray Beach, and that remains his only senior ATP success on tour, although in his Challenger days, he did win three clay court tournaments.
Compared to many of his peers, he has not played a great deal of tennis so far in 202 so far, and, prior to Miami, he had not won two matches in any event.
He managed to improve on that in Florida, where he beat compatriot Brandon Nakashima and then Juan Manuel Cerundulo to reach the fourth round. However, it was Cereundulo’s elder brother Francisco, who avenged family honour by then beating him in straight sets.

Giron Hopes to Return to Winning Ways
Giron reached the third round of the French Open last year, but he is better known for his exploits on hard courts, reaching his first senior ATP semi-final in Sofia last September.
He made his second career semi-final in Dallas in February, and held four match points, only to lose to fellow American Jenson Brooksby.
A quarter-final in Acapulco followed, but he would have been disappointed by his performance in the subsequent two Masters events.
He was beaten in the first round of Indian wells by the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, and then by the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics at the same stage in Miami.
A return to winning ways would be welcome.
Tiafoe v Giron Prediction and Tip
Tiafoe may be the higher ranked player, but prior to Indian Wells and Miami, Giron was playing the better tennis of the pair, and he did win their only previous match.
He may just have the edge.
