Rebecca Peterson v Maria Fernanda Herazo Gonzalez Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 26-year old Swede, and the Colombian, one year younger.

Peterson reached the pinnacle of her career back in 2019 when she won back-to-back titles in China.
They remain the old senior singles titles for the Swedish number one, although she did win the doubles at the Brazil Open on clay back in 2015.
Her best recent result came back in January in Adelaide, when she beat the world number two at the time, Aryna Sabalenka in three sets.
But, having got to the second round of the Australian Open and come through qualifying in St. Petersburg, she picked up an injury and has not played since.
This will be her first match back.

Herazo Gonzalez Guarantees Colombian Interest
This is a rare appearance for Herazo Gonzalez on the senior tour, and she has been given an automatic invite to the main draw to ensure that there is Colombian interest in their home event.
She spends her time almost exclusively on the ITF tour where she has won 8 single and 13 doubles titles, almost all of them on clay.
Her last singles titles success came back in 2018 in Turkey, and she was beaten in the final of the same event last year.
More recently, last month, she was runner-up in a doubles’ competition in Ecuador with fellow Colombian. Maria Paulina Pérez.

Provided Peterson is not rusty after her lay-off she should win this comfortably. Herazo Gonzalez likes playing on clay, and she has the benefit of a home crowd, but this is a step-up in class from her usual opponents.
