Aleksanrda Krunic v Kamilla Rakhimova Head to Head
This will be the third meeting between these two players with Rakhimova currently leading the H2H 2-0. Their most recent tie occurred this year and the Melbourne (Summer Set 2) tournament in qualifying, where the Russian came out on top 6-3 6-4.

Krunic arrives in Bogota having only recorded two wins so far in 2022 and is still awaiting her first main draw WTA win of the year. The Serbians wins come against Govortsova in Indian Wells qualifying, defeating her opponent 7-5 7-5 in Q1 before losing to Tan in 3-sets in Q2. Her other win came at the W60 Arcadia defeating Min 7-5 6-3 before losing to Douglas in the next round 6-2 6-1 despite being the 4th seed to halt her progress.
Aside from these wins, the rest of the results are not the best reading with a number of Q1 defeats including losses to Rakhimova, Sramkova, Teichmann, and Voegele, all of these losses coming in the first round of qualifying.
It seems that Krunic was unable to continue her strong end to the 2021 season where she reached the semi-finals of the W100+H ITF in Dubai losing to Kucova in straight sets before beating Bogdan, Ghioroaie, and Shinikova.

Rakhimova on 6-Match Losing Streak
Rakhimova is also desperate to get back to winning ways and has failed to win a tennis match since January. This is when she made the final round of the Australian Open qualifying defeating Lee and Jimenez Kasintseva before losing to Marino in 3-sets 4-6 6-2 7-6(7). Since then she has been shaking her opponent’s hand as the loser.
The Russian’s most notable performance came at the start of the year at the Melbourne (Summer Set 2) tournament, where the 20-year-old made her way through qualifying without dropping a set all the way to the last-8 losing to Li 6-1 7-5. In the main draw, Rakhimova scored wins against Minnen and Sorribles Tormo.
A win over Krunic would place her in the next round to face either Jani, or the 2nd seed Haddad Maia.
Krunic v Rakhimova Prediction and Tip
An interesting match-up between two players that are desperate to record a win and something will have to give, so one of their losing streaks will end. Rakhimova knows what it takes to beat Krunic as she has done it twice before, including this year so that will fill her with confidence.
Both players appear to be seeking better form, therefore, based on previous encounters between these two it is likely that Rakhimova will come out on top and extend the H2H.
