Jannik Sinner v Emil Ruusuvuori Head to Head

Sinner holds a domineering 3-0 lead over Ruusuvuori, beating him as recently as the Miami Masters last month with 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(8).

Sinner Survives Coric

Jannik Sinner battled a minor scare against the veteran Croat Borna Coric. The young Italian found himself in a three-setter before he clinched the win with 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

His record for the season now stands at an impressive 17-3 and the only thing it lacks at the moment is silverware. Sinner is off to a terrific start in 2022, having reached the quarterfinal on three occasions. One of them was the Australian Open (loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas) while the other came in Miami (retired against Francisco Cerundolo).

Now ranked World No. 12, the number nine seed is certainly primed for a good spell in Monte Carlo – provided he is in the best of shape. Clay can be a demanding surface and the match against Coric may very well be an indication of how Sinner may fare.

The 20-year-old is yet to reach a final on this surface although, he was a quarterfinalist in the 2019 French Open.

Ruusuvuori Dismisses Otte

World No. 81 Emil Ruusuvuori defeated Germany’s Oscar Otte 6-4, 6-3 in the Monte-Carlo Masters opener. The Finnish started the tournament as a qualifier and has fared well for his first time here.

Unfortunately, things will only get difficult for him. While his tally for the year stands at 11-7, Ruusuvuori hasn’t been particularly impressive of late. He lost early in Miami, Indian Wells, and a Challenger event in Phoenix.

The 23-year-old was in a better form at the beginning when he reached the semifinal in ATP Melbourne and the final in ATP Pune. As for his track record on clay, it isn’t particularly impressive either – something that may make the coming weeks troubling for him.

Sinner v Ruusuvuori Prediction and Tip

Barring any fitness concerns, Sinner should come out on the top. He has got everything going for him right now, making it hard to imagine him falling to Ruusuvuori.

Nonetheless, his lesser-ranked opponent is capable of fine tennis and may put up a good fight. The match may move to three sets but the chances of it being a long two setter is higher.

Tip: Sinner to win with Over 20.5 Games: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
