Miomir Kecmanovic v Richard Gasquet Head to Head

The pair have never played each other once before. This will be the first match between the 22-year old Serb, and the Frenchman, who is 13 years older.

Kecmanovic at All-Time Career High Ranking

A former junior world number one, Kecmanovic won his first senior tour title on clay in Kitzbuhel in September 2020, when he defeated Yannick Hanfmann of Germany in the final.

However, it is away from clay that he has achieved his best recent successes, making the quarter-finals in both Indian Wells and Miami, to propel himself to a new career high ranking.

Those runs saw him beat Matteo Berrettini in California, and Felix Augur-Aliassime in Florida.

Prior to that he performed well during the South American clay court swing, reaching the quarter-finals in both Rio and Santiago.

He reached that stage in Belgrade last year before losing to compatriot Novak Djokovic, and will be hoping to at least match that feat this time round.

All Court Player Gasquet

Gasquet has been a highly successful all-court player in his time, with his 15 career singles titles coming on all surfaces, including clay.

And he is also a Grand Slam winner on clay, having lifted the Mixed Doubles title back in 2014 at his home Grand Slam at Roland Garros.

However, once having been ranked as high as seven in the world, his best days would appear to be behind him, with his last tournament win coming on the grass of Rosmalen three years ago, although he was a beaten finalist in Umag last year, defeated by the Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz.

He has not played a great deal of tennis in 2022, and skipped Monte Carlo last week. However, he did enter the competition in Marrakesh, and reached the quarter finals, losing to the Argentine Federico Coria in three sets.

Kecmanovic v Gasquet Prediction and Tip

Although Gasquet is an all court player, he is probably looking his best days in the rear view mirror, whilst Kecmanovic is in good recent form and improving. The Serb also has the advantage of playing in home conditions, and that should give him the edge.

Tip: Kecmanovic to win: 5/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
