Top seed and World No. 1 Iga Swiatek extended her streak to 29-3 this season with a clinical, 6-1, 6-1 win over the German qualifier Eva Lys. With a day’s rest in middle, she is as ready as she can be for the match against Emma Raducanu.
The 20-year-old Pole has been absolutely sensational on the tour in 2022; she conquered the Sunshine Doubles – adding two more WTA 1000 titles to her collection. She also won the title in Doha and prior to that, reached the semifinal in Adelaide and the Australian Open.
In these tournaments, Swiatek has demolished several formidable players like Victoria Azarenka, Leylah Fernandez, Daria Kasatkina, Maria Sakkari, Anett Kontaveit, Aryna Sabalenka, Angelique Kerber, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, and Naomi Osaka.

Raducanu Survives Korpatsch
British No. 1 Emma Raducanu continued to build her form in Stuttgart with a three-set win over Tamara Korpatsch. It was a wildly-contested affair that went 6-0, 2-6, 6-1. In the preceding match, the Brit won 6-1, 6-2 over Storm Sanders.
This marks the first time for the World No. 12 this season that she has won more than two matches in a tournament. The last time she did this was in Cluj-Napoca last year and before that, in her title run in the US Open.
Although brimming with potential and promise, Raducanu is yet to fully find her rhythm as a player. The 19-year-old struggled visibly in Indian Wells, Miami, and Guadalajara as she incurred early exits. But then again, she made her WTA debut only last year and has come a long way since.
Raducanu has proven that she is not an opponent to be taken lightly and on her best day (as has been the case for her this week), she can easily take on any big name.
Swiatek v Raducanu Prediction and Tip
Swiatek is the clear favourite here but if there was a player who could stop her, Raducanu meets the description. After all, both players are young and have got a hint of destiny about them.
