2020 US Open winner and two time French Open finalist Dominic Thiem continues his return to the tour.
After losing out in the first round of the ATP Challenger in Marbella, Thiem returned to the main tour this week at the Serbia Open in Belgrade.
The Austrian opened his campaign against Aussie John Millman in a match that went to a decider which was scalped by Millman with Thiem broken to love serving to stay in the match at 4-5.
Although it was an opening round loss for Thiem, the Austrian took a lot of positives from the match, including some signature single handed backhand passing shots from the baseline.
The former world number three continues his quest to return to the level he was at during the 2019-2020 timeframe and will be hoping for a better run this week here in Estoril heading into the clay Masters 1000s and the French Open next month.

Bonzi Hoping For Biggest Win Of Career
Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi has had a good run this season by his standards.
Bonzi won the ATP Challenger in February in Cherbourg and followed it by arguably the best showing of his ATP career at Marseille, where he made the semi-finals losing out to eventual champion Andrey Rublev.
The Frenchman had notable wins enroute the semis defeating Pierre Hugues-Herbert and Aslan Karatsev among others before stretching Rublev to a decider.
Bonzi followed it up with a win against Italian Lorenzo Sonego at Indian Wells but has since lost early at Miami and last week kicking off his clay season in Monte Carlo.
The Frenchman will hope to get the record better as the clay court season continues this week in Estoril.
Thiem v Bonzi Prediction and Tip
Expect a good showing by the Frenchman Bonzi as he will be well aware that Thiem is still rusty and getting used to being back on the tour.
However, the Belgrade outing was enough for the Austrian to get a feel for the tour and the clay and should prevail in a match of mixed fortunes in three sets.
