Nuria Parrizas-Diaz v Lucia Bronzetti Head to Head
They played four times before with each winning two times. The most recent one came last year with the Spaniard winning in two sets.

Nuria Parrizas-Diaz needed three sets in both matches in Morocco to move on but she was able to do it. It took a lot of energy and commitment but the 30-year is a known fighter and she rarely gives up. It’s been a fairly strong year for her as she is 14-11 on the year firmly ranked inside the top 100.
She is actually in the top 50 right now which is amazing considering where she was last year. Clay is her best surface and it’s no wonder she keeps winning on it. She went 22-7 last year so this year’s record of 6-4 is not surprising. Lately, it’s been decent.
She played most WTA-level talent and she held up pretty well. Obviously, she can’t stay with the best in the world but if you give her a chance she will beat you. Aggressive is her calling card and that works well in Rabat. She just needs to be consistent.

Bronzetti’s Emergence
Lucia Bronzetti is having an emergence party this year. The 23-year old Italian is slowly making her to the top of tennis with consistent tennis and good results. She is 22-10 on the year and 8-2 on clay. Being from Italy means that she is very comfortable on the red dirt and it’s showing.
She won an ITF event this year already and played rather well in Madrid and Rome. Both times she was beaten by better players and there is no shame in that. Bronzetti played very well in Rabat.
Her 1st round clash with Anna Kalinskaya was great and she followed that up with a good win against Clara Burel.
Parrizas-Diaz v Bronzetti Prediction and Tip
So this is a very interesting matchup between two players that have played well. Bronzetti has shown a high level and impressed me quite a bit but I don’t think she can hang with Parrizas. The Spaniard has a tricky type of game and I see a way for her to exploit the Italian.
Their most recent match last year was won comfortably by Parrizas. While I see the Spaniard facing tough opposition I don’t see her dropping the match. I do worry about the fatigue with Nuria but if she is able to go and if she can avoid any long rallies and a 3-set match she will be good.
