Amanda Anisimova v Karolina Muchova Head to Head

This will be their first meeting on the WTA Tour.

Anisimova on a Roll

2019 French Open semifinalist Amanda Anisimova looks quite primed to deliver another similar run in this year’s edition.

She fired warning shots with her clinical, 7-4, 6-4 win over former world number one Naomi Osaka and followed it with an even more scintillating win over Donna Vekic (6-4, 6-1).

With these two wins, Anisimova has improved her tally to 22-8 and now finds herself ranked at the #28th spot.

Her clay court preparations couldn’t have gone better; even though she didn’t reach a final, the 20-year-old made it to the penultimate rounds in Charleston, Madrid, and Rome. In these tournaments, Amanda knocked out the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Belinda Bencic, Danielle Collins, and Victoria Azarenka.

Earlier in the year, she won the Melbourne Set 1 as well. Additionally, she is a Junior French Open finalist – with this kind of pedigree, one can imagine why she is a prime contender to go the distance in Paris.

Muchova Upsets Sakkari

Karolina Muchova had a delayed start to the season on account of her injury; she started the tour only in Miami Open and then featured in Madrid and Rome.

In these three events, her tally stands at 3-2 with the highlight coming in sunny Florida where she reached round three before withdrawing against Naomi Osaka.

Clearly, Muchova is taking it slow and steady – listening to her body and doing what’s best for her. But as a former World N0. 19, a semifinalist in last year’s Australian Open, and a quarterfinalist in Wimbledon, she has the skill set to go big.

The 25-year-old made the same point in Paris by dismissing Clara Burel in round one and later, number four seed Maria Sakkari with 7-6(5), 7-6(4). Muchova appears to be at her best physical self and with a litany of impressive top-1o wins under her belt, she will fancy her chances with Anisimova.

Anisimova v Muchova Prediction and Tip

This match will be an even affair; Anisimova has the clay pedigree and momentum going on for her which makes her the favourite. That said, Muchova is resilient, fierce, and a fighter. She has an impressive all-court game and can put up a solid fight.

A safe bet may very well be this seeing a good few games. Those who fancy betting on underdogs, Muchova is an appealing option here.
