No. 20 seed Daria Kasatkina has barely put a foot wrong in the first two rounds. On Tuesday, the 25-year-old had begun the tournament with a 6-2, 6-0 shellacking of lucky loser Rebecca Šramková. Two days later she handed Mexican qualifier Fernanda Contreras Gomez a 6-0, 6-3 drubbing.
While Kasatkina, wasn’t broken in the 54-minute opening round match, she was broken once in the 56-minute second round contest.
Against Contreras Gomez on Thursday, the Rome Open semifinalist won 76% points on her first serve and struck 22 winners, while making 15 unforced errors. Kastkina converted 5 of 6 break points in the first match and 6 of 6 in the second round.
With Šramková ranked 176th and Contreras Gomez ranked 225, Kastkina will face her toughest test in the third round against Rogers.

Rogers Takes Down Ninth Seed
Facing Kasatkina will be World no. 50 Shelby Rogers, who reached the third round after dumping out much tougher opponents compared to Kasatkina.
The American, who had ousted Tereza Martincova in the opener, knocked out ninth seed Danielle Collins in straight sets on Thursday.
A tight first set saw Rogers race to a 4-0 lead, but Collins came back winning the next four. Rogers ended Collins’ series of successive wins by getting the decisive third break of the set. She held on to go one-set up. The second set was mostly one-way traffic with Rogers racing to 5-1 lead. Collins did get a break back but by then it was too little too late. Rogers won 6-4, 6-3, an identical scoreline by which she had beaten Martincova in the opener.
The 29-year-old, who was on a five-natch losing streak before the tournament, is into the third round for the third time at the Paris Major. She will no b hoping to reach the last 16 just the second time after her run to the quarterfinals in 2016.
Kasatkina v Rogers Prediction and Tip
Having taken out two tough competitors in the first two rounds, Rogers will fancy her chances against the 20th seed. But fresh from her Rome exploits, Kasatkina has form on her side. Three sets in the match seem imminent with Kasatkina progressing.
