Aryna Sabalenka v Kateryna Baindl Head to Head

Sabalenka leads the head-to-head over Baindl 2-0. She won both meetings in three sets at Tashkent in 2017 and Charleston in 2019.

Sabalenka’s French Open Adventure Ends on a Low

For the third straight season, Aryna Sabalenka exited in the third round of the French Open and this time to the power-hitting Camila Giorgi. Despite taking the first set 6-4, she was swatted aside in the next two sets by the Italian who only dropped one game thereafter.

The French Open remains Sabalenka’s least productive Grand Slam. She has now failed to reach the second week in all of her five main draw appearances, which is a slightly shocking statistic for a player of her talent. And it is even more surprising to note that she recorded some decent results in the build-up to Roland Garros, having finished runner-up in Stuttgart and made the semifinals in Rome.

Nonetheless, the Belarusian star will be keen to write off that chastening defeat to Giorgi as Wimbledon looms into view. Sabalenka will begin her grass-court season at the Rosmalen Championships, where she is the top seed.

The former World No. 2 is heavily favored to advance into the quarterfinals at least, unscathed.

Baindl Uses Protected Ranking To Qualify

Kateryna Baindl, formerly Kozlova (changed her name after marrying her fitness coach Michael Baindl), will be competing in a WTA main draw for the first time this year.

The 28-year-old is using a protected ranking at the Rosmalen Championships, having missed a huge chunk of 2020 due to injury. She returned to full-time competition last season and reached the quarterfinals of Budapest and the semifinals of Gdynia amongst her most notable results of the year.

Baindl is currently 3-8 in 2022 across all levels and played more recently at the Surbiton ITF in what was her first grass-court tournament of the year. She defeated the former Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki before bowing out in the second round.

The Ukrainian has a negative win-loss record on the lawns in the pro tour, so any chance of an upset on Monday is highly unlikely.

Sabalenka v Baindl Prediction and Tip

The odds are heavily stacked against Baindl who doesn’t quite match up well on grass. Sabalenka should make this much more comfortable.

Tip: Sabalenka to win AND under 17.5 games: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
