Aliaksandra Sasnovich v Caroline Garcia Head to Head
The pair have played each other four times before, and Garcia has won on each occasion.
Their first three meetings were on hard courts – at the Pan Pacific Open in 2017, and at the Australian Open and in New Haven the following year – and their most recent encounter was on the clay of Roland Garros two years ago.

The fact that Sasnovich is barred from Wimbledon this year because of her nationality means that she will not be able to continue her good form into the third Grand Slam of the year, although the fact that there are no ranking points at stake cushions the blow.
Otherwise, she might have gone to London with reasonable expectations of doing well, having reached the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2018, and the third round last year.
She proved her adaptability by going from the clay of Paris, where she reached the fourth round for the first time in her career, to the grass of Berlin, reaching the quarter-finals before losing to Ons Jabeur.
However, she pushed the Tunisian to three sets, and forced the number one seed to come from behind.

French Open Doubles’ Champion Garcia
With regular partner Kristina Mladenovic, Garcia has just won her second French Open doubles championship, the pair also triumphing at Roland Garros back in 2016.
The duo were also runners\-up at the US Open that same year.
Clay is the surface on which she has had the most success in singles, although, like Sasnovich, she does have a Wimbledon fourth round on her CV, in her case in 2017.
She has played two grass tournaments since Paris, getting to the second round in Nottingham, and again last week in Birmingham, where she lost to the British player Katie Boulter.
Sasnovich v Garcia Prediction and Tip
Sasnovich may be the higher ranked of the pair, but she begins with the psychological disadvantage of having lost all of her previous matches against Garcia. The Frenchwoman will be hoping to play on that fact to her advantage.
