Madison Keys v Lauren Davis Head to Head

After having made an overwhelming start to the season which saw Keys win a title in Adelaide and then make it to the semifinal at the Australian Open, the American hit bit of a rough patch from the Miami Open onward.
In fact in a run of six matches around that period, Keys won just one match before making it to the fourth round at French Open. There she took down Anna Kalinskaya, Caroline Garcia and Elena Rybakina before finishing second to Veronika Kudermetova in the round of 16.
And Keys, who has made it to the quarterfinal stage at Wimbledon just once in her career, but is a former winner of this tournament, has been on a break ever since.
Keys will open her grass court campaign in a bid to prepare herself for the season’s third Grand Slam that starts from next week as she looks to emulate her fourth round spot at that competition from the previous season.

Davis Rushes Past Ruse
Davis hadn’t had the best of starts to the grass court season with two defeats from three matches before this tournament, which is why it wasn’t much of a surprise when she entered her first round encounter here as a slight second favourite.
The American player put all of that behind her as she registered a 6-4, 6-4 win over Elena Gabriela Ruse in her opening round encounter.
She was on court for an hour and 41 minutes before managing to get to the second round, in a match filled with breaks of serves from both sides.
The first set saw both get two breaks apiece to take them to 4-4 but a decisive one for Davis as her opponent served at 4-5 sealed the deal.
In the second, Davis stormed to a 5-1 lead and then lost her serve twice before breaking Ruse yet again in the 10th game to clinch her second round spot. Things could get difficult for Davis in the second round though.

Keys, despite her lack of tennis, should have enough firepower to put Davis down and win in straight sets.
