Magda Linette v Lesia Tsurenko Head to Head
It’s 1-0 to Linette although, that match took place more than 10 years ago in 2011 in Opole. The Pole won that match 6-4, 6-1.

Poland’s Magda Linette has had a good week in Eastbourne so far. In fact, her journey has been quite similar to Tsurenko’s.
In the opening match, she dismissed Danka Kovinic 7-6(1), 6-1 and in the next round, she took out the number 17 seed Alison Riske in a nail-biting three-setter. The match lasted for a little over three hours and saw Linette win 6-7(3), 6-3, 7-6(4).
This marks only the fourth time this season that the 30-year-old has won two matches in a tournament. Her last such feat was in Strasbourg where she lost to Angelique Kerber in the quarterfinal. Before that, Magda’s best run was in the Charleston 500 where she upset the likes of Leylah Fernandez and Kaia Kanepi.
Now ranked World No. 66, she is not the most consistent player on the circuit – evident from her early losses in Paris, Nottingham, and Birmingham.

Tsurenko Upsets Rybakina
Lesia Tsurenko, playing as a qualifier in Eastbourne, has delivered one of her biggest wins of the season. Taking on the number nine seed and top-30 player Elena Rybakina, she fought valiantly to win the match 1-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Her preceding opponent was Colombia’s Camila Osorio while in the qualifiers, she defeated Kimberly Birrell and Heather Watson.
This is also her best run of the season – before this, it came in the Miami Open although, she got lucky there. Lesia lost in the final qualifying round but the lucky loser rule saw her through to the second round – she lost to Yulia Putintseva in three sets.
The 33-year-old (now ranked World No. 114) also had a round-two stint in Istanbul and has since lost in the opening main-draw matches.
Linette v Tsurenko Prediction and Tip
In all fairness, this match can go either way. Neither of them is consistent although, Tsurenko has twice as many trophies as Linette. She is experienced and can put up a fight.
