Sara Sorribes Tormo v Christina McHale Head to Head

Spain’s third highest ranked player in the WTA, Sorribes Tormo will play the Wimbledon as a seeded player for the first time in her career.
Labelled as a clay court specialist, Sorribes Tormo has done well to translate her game style into all courts. She has reached the second round of Wimbledon on two occasions, once last year, the other as a qualifier in 2018.
Sorribes Tormo played in Eastbourne to prepare for the championships. She won her first round match against Panna Udvardy 6-3, 6-0. The Spaniard lost to Yulia Putintseva in straight sets in the next match.
She is 15-10 this season and made the headlines in the Madrid Masters when she reached the quarterfinal. She also has a couple of other quarterfinal finishes in Guadalajara and Monterrey.
The Spaniard is the favourite here and should be able to play her unique defensive style against American McHale.

McHale Reaches Main Draw as a Qualifier
Christina McHale has played in the main draw of Wimbledon 10 times, and this will be her 11th time in 11 attempts.
She came through the qualifiers with an impressive run to reach the main draw. She lost the first set against Laura Ioana Paar in the first round of qualifying and is yet to drop a set since then.
McHale also beat Viktoria Kuzmova and Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove in the other two matches in straight sets. Her victory over Kuzmova came as a 6/4 underdog.
The American is currently ranked 261 and had a career high ranking of 24 in 2012. Her best finish in Wimbledon also came that year when she reached the third round.
