No. 20 seed Amanda Anisimova put up a clinical display as she made quick work of Chinese lucky loser Yue Yuan in the first round on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old wasn’t broken in the match, as she saved all three of the break points that she faced. She herself had two opportunities to break her opponent and she capitalised on both to register a 6-3, 6-4 win in 65 minutes.
The World No. 25, who was a quarterfinalist in Bad Homburg improved to 3-1 on grass this season and 24-8 in what’s turning out to be a pretty goo season for her.
Against Yuan, Anisimova won 89% points on her first serve, struck 29 winners and made 22 unforced errors.
Playing at Wimbledon for the third time, the 2019 French Open semifinalist will be aiming to reach the Round of 32 for the first time with a victory on Thursday.

Davis Takes Down Brengle
Facing Anisimova in the second round will be World no. 102 Lauren Davis, who defeated fellow American Madison Brengle in the opening round on Tuesday.
The victory improved Davis to 3-3 on grass this season and 15-13 overall, from all matches.
Davis made a brisk start in the match against the World no. 59, breaking her opponent twice, while not facing even a single break point.
Pushed back, Brengle took charge of the second set, breaking Davis in the very first game. Although the latter responded with a break in the second game, Brengle won the next three games to build a 1-4 lead. Davis clawed her way back into the set, winning the next four games and sending the set back on serve.
She eventually broke for a fourth time in the 12th game to win 6-2, 7-5 and advance to the next round. This is the fifth time that Davis has reached the second round at Wimbledon and the 28-year-old now has a chance of making it to the third round for the third time.
Anisimova v Davis Prediction and Tip
Anisimova is the 20th seed and there are expectations from her to deliver at this year’s grass-court major. She is in great form as well. Expect her to march into the next round.
