Basilashvili Gets Past Halys

Nikoloz Basilashvili is a very interesting player. He either plays superb tennis or quite a bad one. There is no middle ground in his level and that’s by design. His playstyle is one where you either smash your opponent or he smashes you.

He played well at Wimbledon last year and he’s doing so again. Getting into round three of the event took a 4-set match against Quentin Halys. It was a competitive match all sets were quite close except the one Halys won with 6-0. That’s Basilashvili in a nutshell for you.

He played 3 great sets but got a bagel in another one. Overall though it’s been rather good. He won two matches albeit neither was easy. The 2nd one was particularly impressive because Halys was actually playing rather well. A tricky opponent awaits in round three as well so he will need to stay alert.

It’s been a shaky year so far with 12-20 on the year but at Wimbledon, things have looked rather well.

Van Rijthoven Living the Dream

Tim Van Rijthoven is living the dream currently as the Dutch player is marching on at Wimbledon after recently winning his maiden trophy. A wild card entry into this event, he’s playing some superb tennis on grass.

It’s not that shocking because he beat Daniil Medvedev in Den Bosch in the final to win his maiden trophy and he was a wild card entry in that one as well. His game is centred around a very powerful serve but the forehand and backhand is also rather strong.

He’s enjoying a very strong year with 29-13 currently and 7-1 on grass. His only defeat on grass came against a player ranked four outside of the top 100. The only negative for him is that he’s not earning any points here because he could have moved up the rankings even further.

The win over featured an impressive stat line of 52 winners and 28 errors so that tells you how he plays his tennis. Quick and attacking.

Basilashvili v Van Rijthoven Prediction and Tip

So this matchup is quite interesting to me because we have two players that are playing very well. The Dutch looked a bit more stable but both of them love to attack and this will be a very fast-paced match. Van Rijthoven has the better serve and I think it will matter in this match.

For some reason, I think he will come into this match without any expectations as he’s currently living the dream and I’ll back him to win this one. He’s given me very little reason to doubt him.

Tip: Van Rijthoven to win in four sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
