Alex de Minaur v Liam Broady Head to Head
They played once before and it happened last year in Eastbourne when de Minaur won 6-3 6-4.

Facing Jack Draper at Wimbledon on grass was not an easy task for de Minaur and he found out the hard way when the British player took the opening set. From there on it was a proper battle but Draper could not keep up with the speed demon who was just running around the court.
The Brit did not know what to do so he opted to go aggressive. However, that resulted in 51 errors and that was too much especially if you hit only 30 winners. de Minaur had a more balanced 30-36 and he basically ground out his opponent.
It was a continuation of good form that saw him go 5-3 ahead of Wimbledon. It’s generally been a very good year for him with a 26-15 score overall. He got lucky with the draw as well and he’ll face Liam Broady in the next round.
That’s a matchup he should win especially if he plays well. After this win, he should feel pretty confident about doing that.

Broady Stunning Schwartzman
Liam Broady lost to Diego Schwartzman at Wimbledon last year but this year he got his revenge. And what an act of revenge it was. Broady opened well taking the opening set 6-2. He then lost the next two sets, and the 2nd one was actually a bagel 0-6.
It pretty much looked over early in the 4th set as Diego was up 3-0 cruising comfortably. Broady would sort of let loose a bit and it worked. He battled back to 3-3 and actually won that set in the tiebreak 8-6. He then smashed Schwartzman 6-1 in the final set.
An extraordinary comeback for the Brit who was not on the verge of losing, he pretty much lost. What changed is hard to say. Schwartzman did drop off a bit especially towards the end. In the end, Diego had 61 errors which was way too much.
Broady won’t get that gift from de Minaur and he will need to be much better overall if he hopes to take a step forward.
de Minaur v Broady Prediction and Tip
These two players played once before on grass and it happened last year at Eastbourne. He won that match comfortably. It’s obviously clear that de Minaur is the better player. The match will be on his racquet. Broady could trouble him with his specific playstyle but not overly.
He might win a set but I expect de Minaur to grind him down similarly to Draper. He might be a bit tired after that match as well so keep that in mind. I back de Minaur.
