World No. 43 Sara Sorribes Tormo has been a solid clay court performer with nine of her 10 ITF titles coming on the surface. She also won the WTA 125 in Bol in 2019, but is yet to win a clay court title at the tour level.
Sorribes Tormo, who won her only WTA title in Guadalajara in 2021, brings a 16-11 season record to Laussane.
The 25-year-old has reached four quarterfinals this season, two on hard courts in Monterrey and Guadalajara and two on clay in Istanbul and Madrid.
Most recently, she was beaten in the second round at Wimbledon by Harmony Tan. She lost a bit of form on grass but the fourth seed Spaniard will hope to regain form on clay in Laussane.

Davis Was a Semifinalist in Bastad Last Week
World No. 96 Lauren Davis was a semifinalist in Bastad last week.
The American won her first three rounds with ease against Kajsa Rinaldo Persson, Katarina Zavatska and Rebecca Peterson, but was beaten by Spain’s Rebeka Massarova in the final four matchup of the WTA 125K event.
The 28-year-old, who was a quarterfinalist at Adelaide-2, has a 7-5 overall record on clay, which includes qualifying rounds.
She had also made it to the second round in Rome after qualifying for the main draw.
