Laura Pigossi v Reka-Luca Jani Head to Head
The pair have played each other three times before, Jani winning on each occasion. Two of those meetings came on hard courts, and the most recent, in Los Palmas de Gran Canaria two years ago, was on clay.

Pigossi won bronze in the doubles at the Tokyo Olympics last year, but prior to that start of 2021, she was best known for her exploits on the ITF circuit, where she has won seven singles and 41 doubles titles.
However, she made a breakthrough on the senior tour in April, reaching her first final in Colombia, before losing to the German Tatjana Maria,
She has struggled to build on that since though, and lost in the first round of the French Open and at Wimbledon.
Last week she came through two rounds of qualifying to make the main draw in Hungary, and then beat Rebecca Peterson of Sweden.
In her next match she took the first set against Yulia Putintseva, until the world number 32 bounced back by winning the next two.

Jani Recently Reached Career High Ranking
Two months ago, at the age of 30, Jani reached her highest ever singles ranking, after a career spent mainly on the junior tours. At that level she has appeared in two clay court finals this year, winning in Turkey in February, and finishing runner-up in Croatia two months later.
Sandwiched between them was a doubles success, also in Colombia.
It has been six years though since her best moment on the senior tour, reaching the final of the Brasil Tennis Cup with Timea Babosa.
The Hungarian number two has yet to win a main draw match on the WTA tour this year and would have been disappointed to lose in front of her home fans in Budapest last week, beaten in the first round by the Italian Elisabetta Coccinaretta.
Pigossi v Jani Prediction and Tip
Neither woman has much form in the main draw of WTA events, However, given that Jani has won all three of their previous meetings, she will believe she has the psychological edge over the Brazilian.
