Anna Bondar v Panna Udvardy Head to Head
While they have never faced off on the WTA circuit before this, Udvardy has defeated Bondar on the ITF tour on both the previous occasions. And both those matches had come on clay.

Ranked at her career-best number of 50th on the WTA charts, Bondar lived up to her favourites billing in the first round as she cruised to an easy win over Clara Burel.
Bondar, who was a semifinalist at the Budapest Open last week, registered a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Burel in a match lasting an hour and 34 minutes.
And while it wasn’t the most clinical of victories, with eight breaks of serves in the total, Bondar will take it happily as she continues to rise on the rankings.
The 25-year-old, who had earlier also made it to the semifinals at Karlsruhe and Rabat, made sure she always remained within touching distance of her opponent despite going 2-4 down.
In the second, Bondar raced away to a 5-2 lead with two breaks of serves and while her opponent pulled one back, there was no looking back for the Hungarian player after that. Her confidence would be sky-rocketing.

Udvardy Eases Past Stefanini
Lucrezia Stefanini has never made it through as a top-150 player, which is why Udvardy had gone into their first round as a favourite.
That Udvardy did not waste too much time in completing a 6-1, 7-6 (4) win was due credit to the 108th-ranked Hungarian, who was coming into this tournament on the back of successive losses at Bastad and Budapest, not to mention a one-off defeat at the Bundesliga women’s competition.
Interestingly though, Udvardy’s performance in Bastad was one of her best of the season.
She had managed to reach the quarterfinal there but at the same time would have been disappointed going down to Jeong Su Jang, a player ranked 117th at that time.
