She is 26-21 heading into the Prague Open and ranked #110 – just nine places short of her career-best ranking that she achieved only in June. That surge was driven by Tomova’s quarterfinal stint in the Valencia Challenger and WTA Eastbourne (as a qualifier) and a semifinal feat in the Nordea Open.
Amidst this, she also posted her best Grand Slam results by reaching round two in Wimbledon.
In these tournaments, Viktoriya defeated the likes of Sara Errani, Daria Saville, Kirsten Flipkens, Shelby Rogers, and Varvara Gracheva.
Before this, her other highlights entailed a runner-up feat in Oeiras and a second-round appearance in Monterrey.

Snigur, in a Similar Boat
Snigur, ranking World No. 128, has the benefit of youth in this fixture. With not a lot separating her from Tomova, she will fancy her chances of a good start here.
The 20-year-old Ukrainian is 21-14 and has made decent progress this season.
