Albert Ramos-Vinolas v Pedro Martinez Head to Head

They played once before with Martinez winning this one.

Solid Stretch from Ramos

Albert Ramos likes playing at high altitudes. That was said by Matteo Berrettini last week and it holds true. The Spaniard has had some noted results in the altitude and he’s playing well in Kitzbuhel as well. Two wins and a place in the quarterfinal.

The opponent is Pedro Martinez, a good player that does well in these conditions as well. They only played once before and that loss should motivate Ramos to do well in this one. It’s been an okay year for him with a 20-16 record on clay.

Ramos is a very solid player with a good lefty and pretty stable consistency in his play. His precise shots can give you a lot of trouble if you allow him to dictate play and he generally doesn’t commit too many unforced errors. That’s fairly important in Kitzbuhel because attacking play is generally rewarded.

If you can keep that playstyle at a high level then you’re going to be in a good spot here.

Martinez Back in Kitzbuhel

Similar to his compatriot Ramos, Martinez likes to play in these conditions. He’s done well in Gstaad practically throwing away the win against Berrettini but he bounced back really well in Kitzbuhel.

It’s only natural for him because he played in the final last year losing to Casper Ruud. There is no Ruud this year so maybe the Spaniard can go a step further. It would be much needed for him because he is improving slowly over the year and it’s finally time to see a proper triumph.

Martinez likes to play attacking tennis but he can play long rallies as well. He’s fairly quick around the court with an ability to cover it all and that’s an added asset.

He’s also fairly consistent but also capable of very big swings during matches which he demonstrated last week by dropping a 5-1 lead in the tiebreak.

Ramos-Vinolas v Martinez Prediction and Tip

Thes players played once before and it was a close match that was won by Martinez. I do expect a similar thing here, probably another 3 setter.

When it comes to the winner that’s really tricky to pick. I like the current level of Martinez more and he’s also younger. For those reasons, I will take Martinez.

Tip: Martinez to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
