Daria Kasatkina v Elena Rybakina Head to Head

There have been two previous matches between these two players and both have won one apiece.

The first came at the 2020 Ostrava Open where Kasatkina got past her opponent in three sets to reach the second round. This was followed by a straight-set win over Rybakina at the WTA Abu Dhabi in 2021.

Kasatkina 11-7 on Hard Courts This Season

It’s been over four months since Kasatkina last played on hard court surfaces and returns to it following back to back defeats on the WTA circuit.

With Wimbledon not allowing Russian players to take part, Kasatkina ended her grass court routines with a straight-set defeat at the hands of Bianca Andreescu at the Bad Homburg Open.

And then at Hamburg, she took part in a clay court competition where Kasatkina fell in three sets in the very first round to Katerina Siniakova.

What Kasatkina would want is for her to turn things around to the kind of showing that saw her reach the semifinals at both Melbourne and Sydney earlier this year, which has helped her win 11 of the 18 matches she’s played on hard court surfaces in 2022.

Rybakina Returns after Wimbledon Stunner

If someone realistically thought Rybakina had a chance of winning a Wimbledon title this year before the start of the competition, they would have had to really been very astutely following her game. Because nothing about her play this season suggested anything close to those lines.

And yet, here we are, with Rybakina having won her first ever Grand Slam thanks to a victory at Wimbledon, having defeated Bianca Andreescu, Simona Halep and Ons Jabeur in the process.

Rybakina now returns to hard court tennis following that Wimbledon victory, a surface on which she has reached the final in Adelaide and was a quarterfinalist at Indian Wells.

With one of three titles at the highest level having also come on hard court surfaces, there is no doubting Rybakina will remain a threat here.

Kasatkina v Rybakina Prediction and Tip

This is a difficult match to call first up but we reckon it could go either way with one of them winning it in the third set.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
