Barbora Krejcikova v Veronika Kudermetova Head to Head

Krejcikova leads 1-0; they last met in the 2018 French Open qualifiers where the Czech won 6-2, 6-2.

Krejcikova Not at her Best

Barbora Krejcikova was the World No. 2 in February, but following a recurring right arm injury, her form took a sharp hit.

Amidst the absence from the tour due to recovery and the consequent drop in momentum, she has now dropped down to the #19 spot in the WTA singles rankings.

When she was at her best earlier in the season, Barbora was the finalist in Sydney 500 and later reached the quarters in the Australian Open. After that, she failed to win more than two matches in any of her subsequent tournaments.

Krejcikova has fallen to the likes of Nao Hibino, Xiyu Wang, Anastasia Potapova, Diane Parry, and Marta Kostyuk. Her last tournament was the Canadian Open, where she fell to Karolina Pliskova in the opener.

However, the 26-year-old is not entirely low on confidence as she won the Australian Open and Wimbledon doubles this season. With a little bit of work on her fitness, she can easily find herself on a resurgent path.

Kudermetova, a Force to be Reckoned With

Veronika Kudermetova is the current World No. 18 – a career-best feat for her – and by the looks of it, she is just getting started.

Her season so far can be summarised with 28-15 and three singles finals (all runner-up feats) from Melbourne 250, Dubai Championships, and Istanbul Cup. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, the 25-year-old Russian also featured in the late rounds in Indian Wells, French Open, Libema Open, Bett1Open, and most recently, WTA San Jose.

Over these tournaments, Kudermetova has handsomely dispatched some notable players like Ons Jabeur, Aryna Sabalenka, Belinda Bencic, Madison Keys, Garbine Muguruza, and Naomi Osaka.

Certainly, out-of-form Krejcikova should not pose that many difficulties for Veronika, even though she did lose to Ajla Tomljanovic in Toronto’s first round last week.

Krejcikova v Kudermetova Prediction and Tip

Backing Kudermetova is not the worst play here; she has the experience, momentum, and form needed to add more woes to the struggling Barbora. The match may be intense but the Russian should come out on the top.

Tip: Kudermetova to win, Over 20.5: 11/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
