Daria Kasatkina v Amanda Anisimova Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these players and Anisimova has won both times. In fact, Kasatkina has won a sum total of eight games over those two matches.

In what turned out to be her best performance of the season, Kasatkina overcame Shelby Rogers in the final of the San Jose Open to clinch the title there, earlier this month.
That was her first of the season and had seen the Russian move to becoming ninth in the world – her career-best ranking.
In winning the title, Kasatkina had also defeated Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka and Paula Badosa before her comeback from behind victory against Rogers in the title-decider.
What followed at the Canadian Open was that a very exhausted Kasatkina fell in the very first round of the tournament, losing to Bianca Andreescu just two days later.
Now refreshed and back after nearly a week-long break, Kasatkina will hope she can kick things off on a solid note in Cincinnati but she has a rather challenging opponent first up.

Anisimova Slowly Creeping Back up the Rankings
Anisimova had begun the season with a title victory at Melbourne in January and while she hasn’t managed to add another one to her kitty, her performances have generally been very consistent.
So much so that the American has won 32 of the 45 matches she has played all season, which makes her 15th in the list of top players in the Race to the Finals.
Having begun well at the San Jose Open with a win over Karolina Pliskova, Anisimova fell in the quarterfinals there to Shelby Rogers and then lost to Pliskova in the second round at Toronto.
And despite that solid win-loss record, Anisimova now takes on a player who is third on that very top players of the season chart, making this an intriguing contest.
