Petra Kvitova v Jil Teichmann Head to Head
Teichman leads the head-to-head against her fellow southpaw 2-1, winning in Dubai in 2021 and most recently at the 2022 Madrid Open.

Petra Kvitova fell to a shock defeat in the first round of the WTA National Bank Open in Toronto last week, as her US Open preparation began with the worst possible start.
Kvitova produced an error-strewn display against American Alison Riske who has now won three of their four head-to-head meetings. She was broken seven times in a three-set loss (gave away 13 break points on serve), with her second serve in particular nonexistent.
The Czech lefty will need to improve substantially as she is likely to play just one more tournament – the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati – before she gears up for the last Grand Slam of the season.
The loss to Riske raises some serious questions about Kvitova’s form because it came against the backdrop of a very good run on the grass where she won a WTA title in Eastbourne and reached the third round of Wimbledon. How will she fare against fellow southpaw Jil Teichman?

Teichmann on Verge of Top 20
Jil Teichman stands close at the door of the world’s top 20. The current world No. 21 has not broken that bracket before in her career but has played some superb tennis in the last 18 months which certainly warrants a place among the WTA’s finest.
Teichmann memorably reached her biggest WTA final in Cincinnati last season, demolishing the likes of Naomi Osaka, Belinda Bencic and Karolina Pliskova. But she was outclassed by the seemingly invincible Ashleigh Barty in the final.
Nonetheless, Teichmann has used that result as a springboard to even more success on the WTA Tour in 2022. Although she has not added a third career title in her trophy cabinet this season, she remains on course to break her highest-winning percentage of 57% from 2019 – the year she won her two WTA titles.
Teichman reached the third round of the WTA Toronto Open this past week losing to Simona Halep in straight sets.
Kvitova v Teichmann Prediction and Tip
Kvitova was outplayed by her fellow lefty the last time they collided in Madrid. While Teichmann does not generate an abundance of power in her groundstrokes like Kvitova, she makes up for it with variety in her game that encompasses almost every shot in the book.
