Madison Keys v Petra Kvitova Head to Head

Following two disappointing seasons, Madison Keys made a solid comeback this year and the American continues to blossom. She reached a third semifinal of the season in Cincinnati with a straight sets win over Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinal on Friday.
The World no. 24, who has been in terrific form in the tournament, broke the Kazakh twice to take the first set. She faced some resistance from the Wimbledon champion in the second set, as Rybakina won the first two games. But Keys, broke her thrice to build a 5-2 lead, only to drop serve again allowing Rybakina a glimmer of hope. But eventually Keys held on to win the one hour and 30 minute contest 6-2, 6-4.
Keys had knocked out the top seed Iga Swiatek 6-3, 6-4 in the Round of 16 on Thursday. The 27-year-old has not dropped a set this week, as she registered straight sets win over Yulia Putintseva and Jelena Ostapenko in the first two rounds respectively.
Keys had won her sixth WTA title at the start of the season, winning in Adelaide-2. She also reached the semifinals of the Australian Open for the second time in her career.
Despite reaching three WTA 1000 finals, Keys has won just one of those and that was in Cincinnati in 2019. Keys had beaten Svetlana Kuznetsova for the title. Can the former top 10 player reach another final with a win on Saturday?

Kvitova Ousts Tomljanovic
Petra Kvitova reached a third semifinal in Cincinnati after she eased past Ajla Tomljanović in the quarterfinal on Friday.
The World No. 28 was dominant in the first set, but found herself a break down early in the second set. However, she quickly hit back and then ran away with the contest for a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Kvitova served 12 aces in the match, saved six of eight break points and converted five of six to dispatch the Australian on Friday.
While Keys has reached the semifinals without dropping a set, Kvitova did play out two three-setters en route the semifinals. One of those wins came over Jil Teichmann in the opening round and the other against fifth seed Ons Jabeur in the Round of 16. She had won her second round match against Sorana Cîrstea in straight sets.
The Czech left-hander, who has won 29 titles in her career, had won the Eastbourne title this year. A former No. 2, she will look to keep her form going in the semifinals.
