Benjamin Bonzi has not won a match since July 13th when he defeated Christopher Eubanks in Newport. The Frenchman played four matches since then and lost all of them. John Isner, Eubanks, Frances Tiafoe and Isner again beat him in four matches that all went the distance.
It’s been a rough going for Bonzi but also once that showcased his fairly solid consistency. That is something that will suit him well in his efforts to stay ranked fairly high and play many events. Bonzi’s game is centred around his serve and attacking groundstrokes.
It makes him a very streaky player which is why you see many three-set matches. For him, it’s about finding out how to win those deciding sets instead of losing them. Still, it’s obvious that his tennis is good enough and quite competitive so he’ll hope to finally get that elusive win here.

Edmund Working on Comeback
Kyle Edmund was very unfortunate with the timing of his knee injuries. The Brit was ranked inside the top 20, playing the best tennis of his career when he suffered a knee injury that did not want to go away. A couple of years later he is trying to come back but it’s not going to come overnight.
He played some okay tennis so far in his comeback but it’s only been a couple of matches and he largely struggled which is expected. Edmund will probably get to a solid level again but it’s unlike to come any of these weeks. He still doesn’t have a signature win since coming back.
His only match against an ATP-caliber player was against Dan Evans a few weeks ago and he lost 6-1 6-2. Its unlikely things will be any better against Bonzi considering the attacking nature of the Frenchman but we’ll see. Edmund is 5-3 since coming back but that’s against Challenger players.
Bonzi v Edmund Prediction and Tip
It’s unlikely that Kyle Edmund can challenge here seriously. The Brit needs more matches to get back into both match shape and to gain back his confidence. Bonzi is likely to cruise here.
