Halys Thriving on Challenger Tour

This is the second successive year Hays has appeared in the main draw of the US Open. Last year he qualified for the event for the first time after four previous failed attempts, although he was beaten in the first  round by the German Dominik Koepfer in five sets,

However, this time round he qualifies automatically because of his world ranking, which has been boosted by his form on the Challenger tour. He has already appeared in five finals this year, winning two events on home soil in France, both on hard courts.

However, he has not enjoyed the best recent fortune leading up to this year’s tournament. He was beaten in the first round of Atlanta and Los Cabos, and was knocked out in the second round of qualifying for Montreal in his last match.

Rinderknech Reached First ATP Final in January

Rinderknech reached the second round in Flushing Meadows last year, and he has yet to go further in any Grand Slam event.

He began 2022 strongly by reaching his first senior ATP final in Adelaide, eventually losing to the Australian Thanos Kokkinakis in three sets.

Since then, like Halys, his biggest successes have come on the Challenger tour, and he won a tournament in Poland in June.

And he has just reached the final of another, beaten by another compatriot, Constant Lestienne, in Vancouver, Canada.

Halys v Rinderkech Prediction and Tip

Neither man has any form to speak of in the event, and both have enjoyed their most recent successes on the Challenger tour. However, Rinderknech is the more experienced of the pair, and he may use that to his advantage to help him progress.
