Shelby Rogers v Arantxa Rus Head to Head

World No. 31, 29-year-old Shelby Rogers has had a good practice run en route to the Flushing Meadows.

That was also her first singles final on the WTA tour since the Rio Open in 2016.
Rogers followed it with a third-round stint in Cincinnati, where she went down to Aryna Sabalenka after putting up a solid, three-set fight.
Shelby has had her moments over the course of the season; she was a semifinalist in the Libema Open and had numerous third-round appearances in Miami and Indian Wells Open.

Rus, Looking Sharp
31-year-old Arantxa Rus of the Netherlands is the current World No. 95 and has arrived in New York with a tally of 30-24.
The left-handed star has concentrated her efforts mainly on the low-tier ITF and Challenger circuits events, where she has seen some success. She also won a couple of ITF titles in Spain and Italy and had similar feats in the doubles department.
Rus was the runner-up in Valencia Challenger as well.
As for her WTA track record, her last tournament was the Poland Open, where she lost to Sara Errani in the opener. In the US Open, Arantxa has not made it past the first round since 2011.
