Carlos Alcaraz v Frances Tiafoe

This is a spectacular matchup between two players who have played superbly good tennis leading up to this matchup. There are some stark differences though. Alcaraz needed five hours to beat Sinner and he will feel the effects of it in this matchup.

It’s rather problematic as he takes on Frances Tiafoe, a player who can literally play for hours. The American is physical but he’s playing very aggressive tennis which works like a charm in combination with the New York crowd. No player showed more confidence in his game this week than the American.

Interestingly, he also leads the H2H 1-0 against Alcarza beating him on clay in Barcelona last year. They also played an exhibition match on grass this year which Tiafoe also won but neither gave it their best. It’s going to be a good match, probably one where both win a set but I do think the American has the edge.

That Sinner match could cost Alcaraz here.

Tip: Tiafoe to win, Over 41.5 Games: 15/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Casper Ruud v Karen Khachanov

A very similar matchup to the first one but two players who are a bit more reserved. Still, both of them played really well to reach this stage of the event, as you can’t do it by accident. Ruud is the far better and more complete player generally but Khachanvo should be disregarded.

The Russian has a strong serve and a solid forehand that can do a lot of damage. He is also capable of playing on the net which could be useful if he hopes to finish off this match as a winner. They only played once before and Ruud was able to win that match in three sets.

It happened in Rome in 2020 and since then Ruud became a much better player. Still, I don’t expect him to cruise here. It’s a semi-final, there will be nerves and these matches usually feature an up-and-down trajectory for both players.

I do think Ruud advances though.

Tip: Ruud to win, Over 38.5 Games: 2/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Ram/Salisbury v Koolhof/Skupski

Rarely if ever do we see the number one seed take on the number two seed in a final but this is what happens in the doubles draw this year. Both of these pairings have been playing amazing tennis to reach this final and for Ram and Salisbury, it’s been a continuation of US Open dominance that started last year.

They are the defending champions of the event and they will try to make it two in a row against a very tricky pairing that will hope to dethrone them. Koolhof and Skupski are the 2nd seeds and have been a very consistent pairing all year long with a chance to win the trophy.

It’s going to be a close match as both teams have a decent chance to win this event. I’m pretty sure we’ll see three sets but I do think Ram and Salisbury are nearer to the trophy than their opponents. They won last year and they will enjoy support from the crowd as Ram is American.

Tip: Ram/Salisbury to win in three sets: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
