JJ Wolf v Stefan Kozlov Head to Head
While these two have never faced off at the highest level, there have been seven meetings between them in Futures and Challengers competitions. Kozlov leads 4-3 which includes a 3-1 scoreline last year.
All of these matches came on indoor and outdoor hardcourt surfaces.

Before coming into the US Open this season, Wolf had featured in eight Grand Slam competitions and made the main draw at just one. That was at the 2020 US Open where he had made the third round.
This time around, yet again, Wolf reached the third round to make his career joint-best Grand Slam showing. What made it even better was his straight-set win over Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round, having gone into the encounter as a 16/5 underdog to carve out a victory.
Earlier in the US Open Series, Wolf had also reached the quarterfinal at Washington having featured in the second round of some of the hard court competitions earlier this season.
Thanks to these performances, Wolf’s currently at his career-best ranking of 72nd in the world and he would now hope to wrap up the season with an attempt to break into the top 50. A strong start here would be a good starting point.

Kozlov Hasn’t Won Main Draw Match Since February
Kozlov had entered the Acapulco Open main draw earlier this February as a lucky loser and then stunned Grigor Dimitrov to make it to the round two. That turned out to be his last main draw victory for the season.
Since then, Kozlov has featured in 11 ATP competitions and failed in that endeavour. At some of those tournaments, Kozlov hasn’t even made the main draw while at others, that’s all he has done.
And in the last competition he was a part of at the Cary Challenger earlier this week, Kozlov had to retire from his second round match because of fitness concerns.
Can he shrug those off against his fellow American opponent?
