Emil Ruusuvuori v Jiri Lehecka Head to Head

Emil Ruusuvuori played an integral part as he steered his country in next year’s qualifying pot in the Davis Cup tournament last weekend.
Team Finland, spearheaded by their top-ranked player, demolished New Zealand 5-0 in aggregate. Ruusuvuori accounted for two singles wins and one in doubles, and by the time the tie was over, the disparity in quality and ranking was clear for everyone to see.
There will be much tougher challenges ahead in the qualification group next year as Finland aims to secure its place in the Davis Cup Finals in the tournament to be held in 2024.
Ruusuvuori will now jet straight to Moselle to compete at the ATP 250 event brimming with confidence. However, he hasn’t won a tour-level match in more than a month.

Lehecka Also Plays Key Role in Davis Cup
Jiri Lehecka was also a vital member of the Czech team that convincingly defeated Israel at the weekend, winning the tie 4-1 in Tel Aviv.
The Czechs advanced into the qualifying group next year courtesy of Lehecka’s decisive second singles rubber, in which he beat Edan Lesham 4-6 6-0 7-5, having earlier during the day lost his doubles match alongside Tomas Machac.
It was a welcome return to winning ways for the 63rd-ranked Lehecka who had lost his last two matches in the first round including the US Open meeting against Cristian Garin.
Lehecka will be competing in Metz for the first time, but he will draw fond memories from his semifinal run at the Rotterdam Open earlier this year, which is not dissimilar in court conditions. Will he score an upset win over the higher-ranked Ruusuvuori?
Ruusuvuori v Lehecka Prediction and Tip
This should be highly competitive despite Lehecka starting the day as the overwhelming underdog. The Czech has some good pop in his ground strokes to pin Ruusuvuori behind the baseline. Expect the Finn to advance, but it won’t be a stroll in the park.
