Tallon Griekspoor v Vasek Pospisil Head to Head

Tallon Griekspoor made quite a statement on the Challenger Tour last season, amassing an astonishing eight titles in a calendar year. And his transition to a full-time tour-level player went according to plan in the first half of the season, which included three quarterfinal showings.
But even in the midst of this decent introduction on the big stage, his success has been relatively fluctuating in terms of consistency.
Take for instance right after his Australian Open exit in Round two, he won just a single main draw match between February and May.
Griekspoor successfully qualified at all four Grand Slams, thanks in part to his career-high ranking of No. 44, although he finished with a 3-4 record at the Majors. At the US Open, he was beaten by Federico Coria in the first round.

Pospisil Gets Lucky Loser Spot
Vasek Pospisil lost his second-round match in the qualifiers to Marius Copil, but was among the alternates to get a lucky loser spot in the main draw.
The Canadian big server was part of his country’s team that qualified for the Davis Cup Group Stage next year, winning a pair of important doubles rubbers a week ago.
After ending 2021 outside the Top 100 for the first time since 2019, Pospisil had a major task to return to the world’s centurion club this season. He began the year in impressive fashion winning 20 matches from 25 while collecting his first Challenger title in three years in Quimper.
His form faded in the second half of the season which is why he finds himself playing catchup and with a lot of ground to make up to return to the top 100.

After a grueling season, it looks like both these players would sign up for the off-season manual and head for the holidays. Neither player is in great form, but this should be a really tight contest given just how both serve extremely big.
