Karolina Muchova v Viktorija Golubic Head to Head

It is 1-0 to Muchova; they last met in the 2015 ITF Dobrich where she won in three sets.

Muchova Finally Bags a Win

2022 has been an injury-stricken year for the former World No. 19 Karolina Muchova. She missed out on the Australian Open series due to her ailment; later, an ankle injury and wrist injury kept her out of commission for several other events.

She is now 7-7 following her first-round win in Tallinn over Jessika Ponchet with 6-0, 6-2. It was her first WTA tour-level win since the French Open, where she retired in round three against Amanda Anisimova (after beating Maria Sakkari in the preceding match).

Muchova last played in the US Open, where she fell to Ajla Tomljanvic in the opener. She has taken some time off since to focus on her health and by the looks of it, she seems to be getting back to her former self.

As for her pedigree, she has three Grand Slam quarterfinals to her name and two WTA career finals. The 26-year-old is highly skilled and experienced to deliver a good run.

Golubic Stuns Keys

World No. 89 Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland has delivered one of the biggest wins of her career here in Tallinn. Starting as a qualifier, she reached the main draw after beating Daniela Vismane and Anna-Lena Friedsam.

Then, she stunned the number four seed Madison Keys 6-3, 6-2 – without breaking a sweat. It may seem like a surprising result, but then again, that is how dark horses come to be.

One more win and she reaches her first quarterfinal since the Nottingham Open, where she upset the likes of Emma Raducanu, Heather Watson, and Ajla Tomljanovic.

That, alongside a fourth-round showing in the Indian Wells Open, have been Golubic’s biggest highlights of the season. She was a quarterfinalist in Melbourne Set 1 and Strasbourg Open as well.

Muchova v Golubic Prediction and Tip

This match can go either way. Muchova may still be a bit rusty, and someone like Viktorija may put her to the test for good. At the same time, the Swiss isn’t in the sharpest form herself. Expect an entertaining match.
