Novak Djokovic v Vasek Pospisil Head to Head

There have been five previous meetings between these two players including once at the Davis Cup in 2013. Djokovic has won them all with their last match having come at the 2017 ATP Eastbourne.

Djokovic Blasts Past Andujar

Wrist injury or not, Djokovic showed what he is capable of as he took that first step forward in ensuring he qualifies for the season-ending ATP Finals. And he did so in grand style as he whipped up a 6-0, 6-3 win over Pablo Andujar.

Djokovic was on court for an hour and 27 minutes and broke his opponent four times over the course of the match to carve out his win. In return, the 21-time Grand Slam winner did not face a single break-point and lost just nine points on his own serve spread across the eight games he serves in.

With that first match out of the way, Djokovic would feel a touch relieved after having earlier announced he is managing a wrist injury that he suffered in the days leading up to the Laver Cup.

And with another opponent against whom he has had the better of on five different occasions, Djokovic shouldn’t have a plethora of issues reaching the semifinals.

Pospisil Doubles Win Count

Before this tournament, Pospisil had won a total of two main draw matches on the ATP Tour this season. And when he was supposedly knocked out of the competition in the second round of qualifiers, it looked like the Canadian would have to wait awhile before adding to that tally.

As it turned out, Pospisil got a chance to make the main draw as a lucky loser and has, since, stunned Tallon Griekspoor and overcome Edan Leshem to not just double his victory count for the season but also enter the last eight stage of the Tel Aviv Open.

After a gruelling three-set win in the first round, things were far more routine for Pospisil who won 6-3, 6-2 against Leshem to seal his last eight berth.

And while Pospisil would know he doesn’t have much of a chance to overcome the former world number one, he would love to put up bit of a fight here.

Djokovic v Pospisil Prediction and Tip

As match-ups go, there’s not much going Pospisil’s way here and which is why Djokovic, at 1/20 to win this, looks to be par for the course. Looking at the games handicap here and we think there’s a good bet there.

Tip: Games Handicap Djokovic -5.5: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
