Tamara Zidansek has struggled to win matches on a consistent basis this year.
The Slovenian, who was a doubles finalist in Parma last week, had started off the season well, reaching the semifinals in Adelaide-2 and the third round of the Australian Open but she has fizzled out since then.
Zidansek had peaked to a career high of No. 22 in February but a string of poor performances led to a consistent decline in her rankings.
Currently ranked no. 101, Zidansek will be making a transition from clay to hard. She was a quarterfinalist at the WTA 125 in Budapest but lost in the opening round in Parma.

Bassols Ribera Qualifies After Tan Retires
Marina Bassols Ribera qualified for her third tour level tournament of the season after her second qualifying opponent Harmony Tan retired while trailing 3-6 in the match.
The Spaniard had beaten Olivia Tjandramulia in the first qualifying round.
In her earlier tour-level appearances this year, she made it to the main draw in Budapest as a lucky loser, but lost in the first round. She also made it to the main draw in Palermo as a qualifier, but once again was beaten in the opening round.
The Spaniard had produced better numbers on clay in the previous years, but this year she has been good on hard courts, having reached three ITF finals, all on hard courts. She won two of those titles to take her tally of ITF titles to 7.
Bassols Ribera is 37-21 overall and 27-13 on hard courts. Can she get her first opening round win on the tour this season?
