Stefanos Tsitsipas v Hubert Hurkacz Head to Head
Since their 2018 Next Gen Finals meeting, these two players have played a further eight times including once in the Davis Cup and Tsitsipas leads 6-2 on head to head.
Their most recent outing came in the 2021 Miami Masters where Hurkacz edged out Tsitsipas on his way to winning his maiden Masters title.

He was a 1/6 favourite going into his second round match against the unheralded and 19-year-old Luca Nardi but Tsitsipas needed to dig really deep into his reserves to find himself a place in the quarterfinal.
Tsitsipas needed an hour and 47 minutes to get past Nardi, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3) and reserve a spot next to Hurkacz.
What was rather interesting about the encounter was Tsitsipas faced two break-points in the match, failing to convert any while his opponent never faced any. It needed Tsitsipas to draw on his first serves in the tie-breakers to carve out the win.
The Greek number one had earlier overcome Mikhail Kukshkin in the first round but he could still do a lot more to get into full rhythm.

Hurkacz Eases Past Bublik
After getting to a second set tie-breaker by Francisco Cerundolo in the first round, Hurkacz had a much more straightforward win over Alexander Bublik in the second round of the competition.
The Polish number one on the men’s circuit needed an hour and 21 minutes to carve out a 6-4, 6-4 result against the local lad and move into the last eight.
Hurkacz was off to a flier as he broke Bublik twice to go 4-1 up before losing his serve for the only time in the encounter. He missed on a couple of set-points in the ninth game before clinching the set off his fourth set-point to take the lead.
In the second, the break of serve came in the third game and while he had five more opportunities to double that, he missed them. Hurkacz had no difficulty though as he lost just three points on serve from there on to carve out a victory.
Can he now make it three in three against a higher-ranked opponent?
Tsitsipas v Hurkacz Prediction and Tip
As delicious and evenly-poised this match is, we will have to go with Hurkacz in this given some of Tsitsipas’ struggles with rhythm. Gritty three-set win for the Pole.
