Alexander Bublik has a very good indoor score this year 10-3 but he didn’t have a very good stay in his native Kazakhstan. To be fair he ran into Hubert Hurkacz who is an indoor force and the Polish player proved better. Bublik played two events indoors prior to Astana and it was two finals.
He won the first final earlier this year but lost the second one recently to Sonego. It’s clear that indoors suit him really well and it’s not hard to see why. His serve is devastating in these conditions and it is certainly something we need to mention here as well.
Garin is a fair returned of the ball but indoors Bublik just has all the more reason to unleash the full power and the return is something else we need to mention. The ability to play attacking tennis is crucial a 29-24 record shows that he generally wins more than he losses.

Bad Start Indoors for Garin
Cristian Garin played his first indoor match this year recently in Astana and it was not a good one. He did face a certain fellow named Novak Djokovic so that had probably something to do with it. Generally, it’s been a bad year for Garin.
The only notable result came at Wimbledon where he made the quarter-final but it hasn’t looked very good since then. He didn’t play too much either and he’s 1-5 since that event. In there are some very bad losses to players who are far below his usual level but that’s the point.
Garin has not been on his usual level this year at all. It’s been quite some time since he played as good as he can and it’s unlikely that it will change much indoors. He could technically beat Bublik because you never know with him but I don’t think so.

Alexander Bublik is heavily favoured in this one and for good reason. He is the far better indoor player and he should be able to show it in this matchup.
