Iga Swiatek v Barbora Krejcikova Head to Head

Swiatek leads the rivalry 2-0, with both her wins coming last year in Miami and Rome.

Swiatek Edges Past Alexandrova

Iga Swiatek picked her 60th win of the season as she won a hard-hitting semifinal against Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova on Saturday.

The World no. 1 edged out the World no. 21 in a closely contested tiebreak in the first set. However, she was outplayed by the Russian in the second set, who broke the Polish player thrice while getting broken just once in the set.

In the decider, Swiatek saved a break point in the second game before breaking Alexandrova to love in the seventh game. She missed out on three match points on Alexandrova’s serve in the ninth game, but served out the match in the next game for a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-4 victory in two hours and 39 minutes.

The win was Swiatek’s 10th in a row—a streak which began at the U.S. Open, where she went on to claim the title by beating Ons Jabeur in the final.

The 21-year-old is now 60-7 in 2022 and will be featuring in her eighth final of the year. She is 7-0 in title clashes this year and 10-1 in career finals, suffering the only defeat in her maiden final in Polona Hercog.

Four of the seven titles that she won this year were on hard courts and those came in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami and at the U.S. Open. The other three came on clay in Stuttgart, Rome and the French Open.

It will be interesting to see of she can keep her hot streak going on Sunday.

Krejcikova Rallies Past Rybakina

World no. 23 Barbora Krejcikova extended her winning streak to eight matches as last week’s Tallinn Open champion rallied past Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in a three-set semifinal on Saturday.

In a gripping final four contest, Rybakina was the first to break to build a 4-2 lead in the opening set. The Czech broke back immediately, only to see the Kazakh break again and run away with the opening set.

There were no breaks of serve in the second set. Krejcikova however dominated the tiebreak to stay alive and force the decider.

Rybakina blinked first in the final set conceding a break in the ninth game, and Krejcikova didn’t make a mistake on her serve to complete a 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 victory.

She will now be competing in her third singles final of the season. The four-time tour-level champion, was a runner-up in Sydney and defeated Anett Kontaveit in the final in Estonia last week.

Krejcikova had an up-and-down 2022 as a result of which she is 24-14 this season.

She had begun her Ostrava campaign by beating Shelby Rogers in straight sets. She received a walkover against Belinda Bencic in the second round and then knocked out qualifier Alycia Parks in the quarterfinals.

Can she keep her winning run going on Sunday by lifting the trophy at home?

Swiatek v Krejcikova Prediction and Tip

Swiatek has been outstanding throughout the season. She is 7-0 in finals this year and also has a 2-0 head-to-head record against Krejcikova.

So the World no. 1 will be the favourite despite the fact that Krejcikova is on an eight-match winning streak and is chasing a second title on home soil, having won the Prague Open last year.

Tip: Swiatek to win in straight sets: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
