Grigor Dimitrov v Jiri Lehecka Head to Head

They played once before and it was ealier this year in Australia. Dimitrov won in four sets.

Dimitrov Returns After Break

Grigor Dimitrov did not play since the Sofia Open where he suffered an early exit to Ilya Ivashka. It was the second event in a row that he lost in the opening round and he opted to stop playing for a while and recovered in his native country of Bulgaria.

Whether it was a good decision only time will tell but he will play in Stockholm and Paris to finish off the year. It is strange year for the Bulgarian who posted a 21-19 record so far with some impressive wins but also some shockingly poor performances.

He’s far from his best and hasn’t played like that for a long time but indoors have always been rather kind to him and he’s a former finalist in Stockholm. Perhaps he can find some of that inspiration again and play another strong event here. Would be good for his confidence.

Lehecka Hoping for Wins

Jiri Lehecka has not been in good form for a while now with the Czech player struggling to put up wins.

His lone win in the past 30 days came over Tim Van Rijthoven and that’s pretty solid, there is no denying that but he’s far away from the level he showed earlier this year.

It was a level worthy of a top 50 debut yet it stalled so he’s still quite a  bit away from that goal. The year overall was a positive one with a 38-28 record with the majority of his wins coming on clay. That is also part of his struggles as hard courts are simply not his best surface yet.

Indoors is a bit different due to his serve and he can be tricky albeit clay is still his best one. The last time he faced Dimitrov was a good match for him but he failed to make it really close.

This one could be quite close as Dimitrov hasn’t played in a while and that could have an impact.

Dimitrov v Lehecka Prediction and Tip

Dimitrov won their previous clash in four sets and while I do think this could be a close one I see Dimitrov winning it in two. Lehecka hasn’t been good lately and even with a slow start, Dimitrov will have plenty of time to get it done.

Tip: Dimitrov to win in straight sets: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
