Camila Osorio v Marie Bouzkova Head to Head

Bouzkova Beats Martincova
Marie Bouzkova, age 24, started in Guadalajara with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Tereza Martincova in the first round.
She is the current World No. 38, which happens to be a career-best ranking for her so far. Bouzkova has also enjoyed a pretty spectacular year; her current record is 38-12.
She reached the final right here in Guadalajara in February – in the WTA 250 edition – and later won her first singles title in the Prague Open. Her other accomplishments include quarterfinal runs in Wimbledon and Monterrey and a few mid-round appearances in the Madrid Open and Adelaide International.
Bouzkova’s record against top-20 players isn’t particularly strong yet, but she did manage to beat the likes of Caroline Garcia, Danielle Collins, and Karolina Pliskova this year. Surely, Osorio should not prove to be a big challenge – at least on paper.

Osorio, Looking to Find Some Reprieve
Like many players, Camila Osorio hasn’t had that great of a spell in 2022. She is now 16-16 and ranked #71 – a far cry from her previous career-best ranking of No. 33, where she was just in April.
The sole highlight of her season is her runner-up feat in Monterrey; since then, there has been just one other tournament where she won more than two matches (WTA Bogota, semifinal stint).
Osorio last featured in the San Diego Open, where she lost to Martina Trevisan in the opener after clearing the qualifiers. Before that, she fell to Alison Riske-Amritraj in round two of the US Open.
However, Camila started with a surprise here in Guadalajara by knocking out the 15th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-4, 7-6(10). The question remains if she can keep the same rhythm going.
Bouzkova v Osorio Prediction and Tip
Bouzkova has the clear advantage owing to her pedigree and form; she will start as the odds-on favourite. That said, Osorio has potential and will eye an upset after her emphatic performance in the opener.
