World no. 24 Lorenzo Musetti is playing some great tennis on hard courts and the Italian has now moved into his third consecutive semifinal this month.
The fourth seed needed just an hour and 18 minutes to dispatch Daniel Elahi Galan in the quarterfinal on Friday. After taking a 2-0 lead, Musetti came back from 0-40 to hold serve in the third game of the opening set.
The Italian took charge from that point on and never looked in trouble again in the match as he earned a 6-3, 6-0 victory. The one-hour-and-18-minute contest saw Musetti hit 25 winners. He saved all seven of the break points that he faced in the match and capitalised on four of the 10 break points that he held.
Musetti, who had a first round bye, had beaten Laslo Djere 7-5, 6-4 in the second round. He is coming off back-to-back semifinals in Astana and Florence. A victory on Saturday will take the 20-year-old into his second final of his career. His first came earlier this year on clay in Hamburg, where he went on to upset Carlos Alacaraz for his maiden title.
Musetti, who also won a challenger in Forli, improved to 38-24 from all levels this year. Can he keep his winning momentum going?

Kecmanovic Topples the Top Seed
World no. 30 Miomir Kecmanovic took down the top seed Pablo Carreno Busta in the quarterfinal on Friday to reach a third semifinal of the season.
The Serbian, who is 39-23 overall this season, improved to 21-10 on hard courts as he defeated the Spaniard 7-5, 6-2.
Kecmanovic broke in the very first game of the match, but he missed out on two set points in the 10th game as Carreno Busta tied the set at 5-5. The Serbian player, however, broke again in the next game and then held serve to take the first set.
The 23-year-old was more dominant in the second set as he broke the top seed twice to complete the win in an hour and 36 minutes.
Kecmanovic had knocked out Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 6-2 in the opening round and was leading Corentin Moutet 5-3 in the second, when the Frenchman retired.
Kecmanovic, who won his only title in Kitzbuhel in 2020, is looking to reach a third tour-level final and a first since that title success in Austria.
